IAT the Key to Many Roads

There is a new face at IAT Al Ain. Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Humairi, the new vice- principal here. He lives in Abu Dhabi now but he will be in Al Ain soon. He used to work in Al Taweela. He graduated from UAE University five years ago. He wanted to be a doctor but after visiting Med School and discussing the matter with his father, he learned that medical career is not for him. He fell in love with engineering. A few years later he completed his master degree in quality management. In an interview for IAT Al Ain Online Career exploration Center he said that He came to IAT to teach young future engineers. Al Humairi states that he will be a bridge between IAT and the industrial companies outside. To fulfill this concept he has introduced the shadow jobs initiative, in which the IAT students can train and experience different vocational jobs at a number of leading companies in the UAE. He told us that the most important subjects to be an engineer are English, Auto CAD, and Mathematics. He also told us that the most important skills are communication, typing, and note taking. He told us several important things: “You have skills to be proud of”, “Vocabulary is pretty much like a bullet in a gun”, and the most important thing he said was “The UAE is proud of you”. As a new vice principal, Al Humairi has spoken about his vision for IAT Al Ain and his expectations of the students and ended his talk by opening the channel of communication with IAT students saying “ My door will always be open for you and I hope that I will be able to serve you to be the future engineers of the UAE”
