IAT the Key to Many Roads

There is a new face at IAT Al Ain. Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Humairi, the new vice- principal here. He lives in Abu Dhabi now but he will be in Al Ain soon. He used to work in Al Taweela. He graduated from UAE University five years ago. He wanted to be a doctor but after visiting Med School and discussing the matter with his father, he learned that medical career is not for him. He fell in love with engineering. A few years later he completed his master degree in quality management. In an interview for IAT Al Ain Online Career exploration Center he said that He came to IAT to teach young future engineers. Al Humairi states that he will be a bridge between IAT and the industrial companies outside. To fulfill this concept he has introduced the shadow jobs initiative, in which the IAT students can train and experience different vocational jobs at a number of leading companies in the UAE. He told us that the most important subjects to be an engineer are English, Auto CAD, and Mathematics. He also told us that the most important skills are communication, typing, and note taking. He told us several important things: “You have skills to be proud of”, “Vocabulary is pretty much like a bullet in a gun”, and the most important thing he said was “The UAE is proud of you”. As a new vice principal, Al Humairi has spoken about his vision for IAT Al Ain and his expectations of the students and ended his talk by opening the channel of communication with IAT students saying “ My door will always be open for you and I hope that I will be able to serve you to be the future engineers of the UAE”

UAE Future Aircraft Engineer

Do you know that it’s better to talk about your job now before you become big and forget about it ! I planned to be an Aircraft Engineer, it is a perfect job. It needs education and high average for sure. So I decided to work in this job. I like it because it will secure good income for life. It is a popular job. The advantage in this job that it has good salary and nice technology. The disadvantage in this job that when you work in a plane, you have to be healthy and your ear 100% because the sound is too high. I have one experience and it is in the computer. I wish my friends join with me in this job but be careful it need a high average and it is above 85% if you want to be an engineer. But if you brought below 85% you can’t have the job.

I think that this job will give me a good salary. I asked some people about this job and they said that I’ll be perfect in it. When I finish my school I’ll join the petroleum institute in Abu Dhabi. After that I hope that ADNOC will sponsor me to be a petroleum engineer in it. I think that if they sponsor me I’ll add a lot to this company and I’ll work very hard to be the right person that they choose for this job. I choose this employer because it is a local company that will make my country’s economy flourish. So please see my skills and you will find that I am the right person for the job.

My dream job is to be an Air Traffic Controller because I like to control the planes in the air, work in the controller tower and giving the orders to the planes. To be an air traffic controller you have to learn English because it’s the only language that the controllers and the pilots speak, and you should have an ATC certificates to work. Air traffic controller is a very important job .you should wake up all the working hours except the breaks and if you are little tired or sick you shouldn’t work; because all the people souls depend on you. Ali Saeed a Successful Engineering Career

I like to be an engineer because I like to work with machines and other objects. Being an engineer helps you in your life like if your car stops in the middle of the road , you don’t need to call for an engineer and it will cost you a lot of money but if you are an engineer you can fix the problem fast and it will not cost you any thing. Engineering is a hard job and it needs a person who is healthy and strong because in the engineering job there are gases and oil that may hurt you lungs. I started to work with tools since I was ten. I always fixed my bike since that time I been fixing things like I have fixed an old radio. That is why I like to be an engineer.
